The snowball is going great. The debt free date is in on the move again we are into July of 2021 the 21st to be exact. My goal for this week was find enough cash to pay off my Citi card this month.
So the 2020 Great Selloff is back on after a brief slow down. I listed a few things to eBay and they all sold. I stopped procrastinating on going through my closet. There is still a long way to go but I made a pile to donate to goodwill and a pile to try and sell.
Thus far if it is a not a name brand or too old to sell it gets donated. For my initial Plato’s Closet try I brought in mostly items from H&M, Nike, and a pair adidas shoes. They took pretty much everything except some Adidas NMDs. I will try to sell them on Facebook Marketplace for about $10. I still have a ton of items in my closet to go through so hopefully there is still more money to be found in there.
For full disclosure I got $60.20 for my items sold at Plato’s Closet. I was real skeptical on if they would even want my items. The goal for Plato’s going in was to make at least $18 so we exceeded that greatly.
I am trying to research other ways to make money online. So far I have requested to join Amazon Merch and Teespring. I would like to sell running inspired t-shirts or whatever sells best. The Amazon Merch request is pending approval so we will see what happens with that.
My Amazon and eBay affiliate program requests have been approved. I have only put affiliate links to the running gear I use on blog. Initially I was going to make a discount shoe website but my Eastbay affiliate request was denied. So I have to rework that idea for the moment.
The budget is going fine. I am always looking for anyway I can increase my snowball payments. Currently the only non essential things on the budget are YouTube Premium. I debate if I should cancel it all the time but it’s just too convenient to avoid using data while at work. I currently have my budget maxed for snowball payments.
I think with my snowball payments and random sales the debt will be gone soon enough. Every week or so we make progress naturally and extra to make the debt free date move up. I want to be credit debt free so bad it hurts sometimes. It is amazing seeing all the card that have been paid off but it’s not enough I need them all gone.
Also my Amazon card is paid in full. I decided to look at the statements for this card for the last year. Just to acquire some information. To my surprise I was paying like a 28% interest rate on the card. That is ridiculous and never again will I make a creditor rich like that again.
Debt Progress Wins
I really wanted ribs on Friday and I was set on ordering them. Eventually I added them to my cart to order but I decided against it. Instead of paying $26 for the ribs I put the money towards paying my Citi card down. I think that’s a major breakthrough. Did not eat out and cooked my own food!
